The only thing that is stopping you is the story you keep telling yourself about why you can’t follow through on your health and fitness goals. Most people are not living their lives. Instead, they are living inside the story they tell themselves. The number one excuse most people give about why they are not following through and taking action on their goals is that they don’t have the time.

Could you go to bed a half an hour early and get up a half an hour early to exercise and meal prep if need be? Could you cut out an hour or two of television each night? Is the issue that have children, or are using your children as an excuse for not being healthy when really they are the reason to get to be healthy.

When people are honest with themselves they know the answers deep down. But we bury those same answers, those that would serve us, underneath difficult emotions such as shame and overwhelm. When you tell yourself the same self-defeating story over and over again for years, and associate primarily with people who are telling the exact same story as you are, the brain begins to believe it and accept it as the truth.
